About the event

What would you love to see hanging on your wall? Your name, a favourite word, affirmation or something completely random turn it into clay!

In this 2-hour hand-building workshop, you’ll create your own personalised ceramic wall sign from scratch. Choose from graffiti, bubble or classic lettering, then make it completely your own with colour, texture and finishing details.

No experience is needed. You’ll be guided through the process step by step, with all clay, tools and materials provided. Once finished, we’ll fire and glaze your piece in your chosen colour, ready to collect from the ClayLife studio once complete.

The perfect occasion to spend a fun couple of hours with friends, family members or a date. Also, a fabulous solo-date as you will meet and mingle with like-minded creatives as many people book in on their own too. This event is light hearted, sociable, creative and an all-around vibe!

IMPORTANT: SEND US YOUR WORD AND DESIRED WRITING STYLE IN ADVANCE. Your ceramic plaque can be 30 x 15 cm in size.

As every sign is personalised, please send us the word/name/number you’d like to create and your chosen lettering style at least 2 days before the workshop. This allows us to prepare your template in advance so you can get straight into making on the day.

Here is a general oversight of how the session will run:

6:15pm: people will start arriving and settling in. Late arrivals may result in unfinished work, and for very late arivals we may not be able to accommodate you as the group will have already progressed throuh the guided demonstration.

6:30pm: The workshop will begin, Nina will take you through the process step by step. There are no allocated breaks during these sessions. However feel free to take a break whenever desired whether to take a breath of fresh air, Nina will catch you up.

8:15pm: the workshop will be coming towards the end and you can now start thinking which colour glaze you will be selecting.

8:30pm: the workshop will now come to an end, you can leave behind your art. They will then spend the next couple of weeks drying, being bisque fired and then glaze fired. This can take anywhere between 1-2 months (give or take) and then a collection time will be organised or for an additional fee we can organise postage.
