About the event
Are you a ramen enthusiast? Do YOU ramen?
Look no further. In this unique pottery class, you will create your very own signature bowl.
Will your bowl include resting dints for your chopsticks? Is it going to have intricate patterns? Are you going for a rounded shape or a V shape? We can’t wait to see!
Don’t worry if ramen isn’t your thing, feel free to make a bowl to enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner out of!
Looking for something fun and different to do? The perfect occasion to spend a fun couple of hours with friends, family members or a date. Also, a fabulous solo-date as you will meet and mingle with like-minded creatives as many people book in on their own too. This event is light hearted, sociable, creative and an all-around vibe!
Absolutely no experience needed, this is a beginner friendly class. Step by step guidance will be provided including all the materials needed to create your masterpiece. Your bowls will then be fired in the ClayLife kiln and then glazed with the finish of your choice.
Our ClayLife studio at Hope Mill, Ancoats is a colourful, relaxed and creative space designed for getting messy, making something great and enjoying a couple of hours with good company. Free Parking available on site for our guests. Alternatively, Hope Mill is a 3 minute walk from New Islington tram stop.
BYOB and snacks are welcome. We just ask that everyone drinks responsibly and respects the space and those around them.
Here is a general oversight of how the session will run:
4:45pm: people will start arriving and settling in. Late arrivals may result in unfinished work, and for very late arivals we may not be able to accomodate you as the group will have already progressed throuh the guided demonstration.
5pm: The workshop will begin, Nina will take you through the process step by step. There are no allocated breaks during these sessions. However feel free to take a break whenever desired whether to take a breath of fresh air, Nina will catch you up.
6:50pm: the workshop will be coming towards the end and you can now start thinking which colour glaze you will be selecting.
7pm: the workshop will now come to an end, you can leave behind your ramen bowls. They will then spend the next couple of weeks drying, being bisque fired and then glaze fired. This can take anywhere between 1-2 months (give or take) and then a collection time will be organised or for an additional fee we can organise postage.
Multiple dates to choose from throghout the year, see above!
