Life sculpting 6 hour session

Take life drawing into three dimensions in this immersive six-hour ceramic sculpture session, led by figurative ceramicist Nina.

Working from a live nude model holding the same pose throughout the day, you’ll have the time to build, observe, refine and add detail to one considered figurative sculpture from start to finish. The extended format allows you to become fully immersed in your work and complete your sculpture in one dedicated day, with regular breaks throughout.

No previous sculpting experience is needed. Nina will guide you through the process step by step, from establishing the basic form and proportions through to refining the anatomy, surface and final details that bring your sculpture to life.

Our Life Sculpting sessions are body-positive, relaxed and welcoming, celebrating the human form in all its diversity. The day is designed to be creative and enjoyable, whether you’re completely new to clay, an artist wanting to explore figurative sculpture or simply looking to try something different.

Come alone, with a friend or make it a creative date. Lots of people attend ClayLife sessions solo, and the small group size creates a friendly, sociable atmosphere while still giving you plenty of time to focus on your own work.

Breaks will be taken throughout, including a lunch break at 12:30! We will provide buiscuits, there is a hot drinks vending machine outside the studio where you can buy coffees or teas, or if you would like to bring a flask we will have herbal teas and a kettle you can use.

THE STUDIO

Taking place at our dedicated hand-building and sculpture studio at Hope Mill, Ancoats, just a 3-minute walk from New Islington tram stop, with free on-site parking for ClayLife guests.

You’re welcome to bring your own drinks / snacks to enjoy while you sculpt.

Three weeks. One pose. One sculpture completely made by you. We can’t wait to see your wonderful creations.
